Did you ever try to count

the stars up in the sky?

This would seem an endless job

for someone like you and I.

Did you ever, sit and wonder

how many fish are in the sea?

I doubt that we will ever know,

it’s too big a job for you and me.

Did you ever watch an ant hole

with ants going to and fro?

How many ants are there inside?

Maybe, there’s two thousand or so

We often think we humans are

in great numbers on our Earth,

but compared to many other things,

we are a minority right at our birth.
